The possibilities are endless! The challenge has been supported by the Woodland Trust which has produced some fantastic ideas for outdoor activities on their website with over 150 things to do this summer.

Helen McKenna, head teacher at Broadway East First School said “To add to the challenge we will be looking for the five children who are most active, or those who have made the biggest changes. We will be launching the challenge in the week beginning Monday 27th April it will run for 6 weeks and during that time we will ask that the children take photographs or do drawings of their outdoor activities.”

The challenge will end on Monday the 8th June and during that week a celebration event will be held at one of the Gosforth Schools’ Trust schools that is taking part in the challenge. They are Grange First School, Archibald First School, Brunton Frist School, Archbishop Runcie Church of England School and South Gosforth First School.   where the five most active children from each school will be invited to share their photographs and drawings and talk about their favourite activities.

George Snaith, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Gosforth Schools Trust said “This is a fantastic opportunity for the children of the Trust to join together to celebrate an active healthy lifestyle and we hope it will provide opportunities for the whole family to get involved. We look forward to seeing and hearing all about the outdoor adventures.”
